Pervious Walls

This is a common problem on both new and old homes alike. It is often referred to as "honeycomb" or "porous" concrete. It can be the result of a variety of factors, including the use of concrete mixes that have gone "bad," or aren't the correct strength for the construction of a basement wall. Additionally, the problem could be attributed to builders using poor or outdated construction techniques. The result is weak, brittle surfaces which can start to fall apart in certain spots. This can eventually cause water to seep inside of the home and cause damage.

There are some waterproofing contractors who believe that the only solution to the problem is to tear out the wall and build it again. However, we know that you don't want to have your home torn apart, and this can be a very expensive and time-consuming solution that isn't really necessary seeing as how there are other more effective, more affordable options available to you.

Exterior Waterproofing

At Don Kennedy and Sons, we can make use of a waterproofing membrane that will be placed over the outside of your foundation walls. It has tiny dimples in it that allow moisture to pass through and into a drainage system which will ultimately lead it into a sump pump.
